Opps, didn’t notice the question! Is it “From Me to You” by Del Shannon (1963)?

We have a winner!! Hit the Hot 100 on 6/29/63, lasted for 4 weeks and peaked at #77.
The Beatles charted first on 1/18/64 with “I Want to Hold Your Hand”. Their version of “From Me To You” charted 3/7/64.
Good job Margaret.

It was reading your question carefully…”of a song written”…meaning it didn’t have to be sung by them…you are SO sneaky!
I love your “Music Trivia Quiz”…it brings out the detective in me.
