My Mom loves to watch movies on TV. So on most days, when she is not watching The Animal Planet and hoping they will talk about Chihuahua’s, she is tuned to Lifetime Movie Network. I would be remiss, and my son would burn me, if I didn’t openly admit I watch LMN too. Last night I watched a movie called “Hush” with Jessica Lange, Gwyneth Paltrow.
The movie wasn’t very good and the rating of 4.9 out of 10 seemed about right. I did see some scenes in the trailer that were not in the movie on LMN so maybe they cut it up too much for television. However, just before I erased it I decided Mom might like it so I saved it.
Today about 11 AM I asked if she wanted to watch a movie and she said yes. This was after three hours of Animal Planet of course. I put Hush on and realized I would have to do a lot of “play by play”. Mom doesn’t hear well and the accents of the actors in the movie caused her to basically not have an idea of what was happening. So every so often I would hit the pause button and explain what was said or what was happening. Three hours later for a two hour movie, it was over and she loved it.
The cool part was just sitting there and helping her make sense of what she was trying to hear. We both had a good time and she can still catch those Chihuahua’s later.
